We
also need a better approach to road repairs on this island, what with
traffic on the east side all jam up for two days in a row as they
work on both Kaumualii and Kapule highways and Wailua Bridge. Last
evening I was getting texts from a friend who was either stopped, or
moving 2.5 mph, all the way from Kapaa to Lihue. It's bad for
tourism, you know. Cause “The Descendants” never depicted traffic
backed up from Lihue to Kealia — or from Hanalei Bridge to Waioli Stream, for that matter. Seriously, WTF are they
thinking?
And
WTF is The Garden Island thinking, rehashing the POHAKU story they totally muddled the first time around? Oh, I see,
it's another chance to stroke Prosecutor Shaylene Iseri-Carvalho,
with “gag me” language like this:
If
the end result will be that POHAKU can continue running, then
consider that the program needs assistance for equipment, food and
volunteer worksite coordinators, not as task masters, but responsible
organization representatives.
Actually,
I think I've figured out why TGI has bent over backwards to suck up
to Shay. Two years ago, she went after them with both barrels blazing over an article that Paul Curtis wrote. And excuse the mixed
metaphors, but they've had their tail between their legs ever since.
Sad.
It
was also a little sad to hear Solette Perry — the police chief's
wife — featured in an attack radio ad for Shay. Solette has never
forgiven Justin Kollar for not preventing the chief from being
suspended, and that has turned her into a Shay loyalist. I can totally understand where she's coming from. Hell hath no fury like a
woman whose husband has been scorned.
But
aside from creating awkwardness for the Chief — who yesterday
told me he still has not officially endorsed anyone, and was only
photographed smiling with Ale Quibilan, Roy Asher and Shay at her
recent fundraiser because “my wife asked me to go and I support my
wife” — Solette's “I'm for Shay because I despise Justin”
stance raises some sticky political questions.
Like,
do we have to hate Justin, just because we like the Chief?
Can't you dislike the mayor and the county attorney, yet still
see good reason to vote against Shay? Can you continue to like
KipuKai Kualii and Mel Rapozo, even though they've backed Shay? Do
you have to like Tim Bynum just because Shay screwed him with
that prosecutorial vendetta? Should you reject or embrace Dickie
Chang and Nadine Nakamura because they essentially remained silent on
Shay? Does Jay Furfaro get extra points because he was able to keep
Shay and JoAnn Yukimura from scratching each other's eyes out?
It's
all so muddled.
Still,
I did have to laugh a little, thinking what might happen if Justin
decided to turn the tables on Shay and employ the same negative
campaign tactics. He could marshal a sizable army of detractors among
her former staff — heck, just among those who have successfully
settled EEOC claims against her.
And
I had to laugh a lot when I heard Solette say that Shay helps “people
wronged by those who are corrupt with power. Shay will fight for what
is right. Shay will fight for what is pono.”
OK,
if you say so. I'll just totally ignore all the evidence to the
contrary, starting with rice cooker gate and continuing on through
those EEOC settlements.
Speaking
of which, one of those who got money from the county because Shay
treated her so shitty is Erin Wilson, the single mom who moved here
all the way from Colorado to work as a victim witness coordinator,
only to be fired a couple of months into the job because there
supposedly wasn't enough work. Yeah, and lil Miss Pono timed it so Erin's
last day of work was the day before Thanksgiving, the same day OPA
had a big staff party and Shay sent out an email telling everyone how
"blessed" she felt to have them working there. What a
sensitive gal. No wonder cold-hearted Koloa Camp evictor Mike Tresler supports her.
Now
Shay is back before the Council today, asking for permission to apply
for both federal and state funds to — you guessed it — beef up
the victim witness program. You know, the same one that just nine
months ago supposedly did not have enough work to keep Erin busy.
Oh,
and she wants to get money for a “keiki POHAKU,” too.
Curious,
how she's timed this to get on TV right before the election, even
though one would presume she would have already applied for the
dough, seeing as how the funding periods start Aug. 1 and Aug. 15, respectively.
But then, that's politics. And as a friend reminded me the other day, there's a lot more going on the world than the prosecutor's race.
Which is definitely true. So how about if I intersperse posts about Shay with posts about the end of the world?
Those who would rather check out completely might prefer this entertaining video. Which got me thinking, when people start to boycott a restaurant because it serves animals raised in disgustingly dirty and horribly inhumane factory farms, well, then the human race might be showing some sign of evolving. But we're obviously not there yet.
How can people say that Al and Bernard are conspiring against Shay to get Justin in when Bernard totally screwed justin by suspending the police chief?
ReplyDeleteHello... did you forget about Justin's Best Friends who wanted to be Police Chief & Deputy Chief, Mark Begley & Hank Barriga???!!!! Darla's on Justin's campaign website, come on it's all so obvious that it was a conspiracy against Shay & the Chief!
ReplyDeleteJoan, you are a cyber bully who attack & hurt innocent people and their families. You don't realize how your blog spreads hatred in our community. You write about people and attack their character & reputation and you never even met them!
How can you live with yourself and go to sleep at night?!
What goes around, comes around (tenfold) and you will get BACHI BIG TIME! GOD knows and is watching, HE knows your evil and will vindicate the honest and good people...
Yeah but us locals have known these little local secrets about these dirt bags that get away with crime for years so their reputations speaks for themselves and no one told them to do what they do. F'em all Karma *itches
DeleteHmmm, are you feeling guilty of something? Because this blog attacks not only attacks Shaylene, but the locals that are really trying to do good for the community. Unfortunately, their families get hurt... Shaylene wants to UNITE & you haters just want to divide.
DeleteBS the GOB is starting to fall apart, the crimes/murders have finally caught up to the evil doers.
DeleteKauai's Home Grown Terrorists Reign of Terror will soon come to an END.
Why all the negativity on this blog? This is as bad as Andy Parx's blog. Negative energy! No Aloha. So sad.
ReplyDeleteChief Perry is supporting Shaylene even though he is aware of all her dysfunction. What kind of County leader does that make him?
ReplyDeleteHe must be aware of the various agencies investigating her right now. He must be aware of the many dedicated employees she drove out of OPA or wrongfully terminated. And we are already paying for that! And her going after Bynum to fulfill her vendetta - and if Bynum sues, we will probably pay for that too! And her trying to get Jessica Venneman fired from the Humane Society.
He must be aware of her driving the County car home all those months. Especially since he parks right by her.
But Chief Perry thinks his suspension was more important than all of those things put together. More important than an OPA with integrity and respect. Give me a break!
Cannot trust a person like that, remember the Kagawa murder report and press releases.
DeleteWhen all is said and done Al Castillo will be responsible. After all he is the Mayors Legal Council.
ReplyDeleteJust in case God is busy remember to vote on Sat for Justin Kollar!!
ReplyDeleteYou must be atheist, so go make fun of GOD...
DeleteWhen you have cancer....only you have cancer.
ReplyDeleteWhen you have corrupt politics, we are all affected by it and its malignancy spreads in the bureaucracy....paid by the people's taxes
Who can say cancer is bad? Maybe its Karma? Will you kill the messenger?
Who can say corrupt politics is bad or good? Maybe its Kauai Karma?
Don't kill the messenger:
At least Joan gives us the information to decide for ourselves.
Dr Shibai
Seems that Soltye Perry provided her own reasons in the ad for supporting Shay over Koller. Why should we accept your obviously politically motivated slander of her motives? You don't even bother asking people their thoughts before cramming your own thoughts in their mouths. It's getting hard to take. At this point you're not doing your political masters any favors. The whole blog has become an obvious political spin zone and, to that extent, laughable as a source for any actual information.
ReplyDeleteYes Joan I JUST CAN't STOP READING so would you stop writing?
ReplyDeleteTypical Shay tactics. Attack attack attack. Anything to take the attention off all the harm she has done
ReplyDeleteOnly if the public knew all that she has done and continue to do.
DeleteWhy would I care about who the police chief wife is supporting? Thankfulfully I still live in a free country where I can vote for whom I choose.
ReplyDeleteYou are confused. Attack, attack, attack is what this blog does nearly every day.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand how you can call yourself an award winning journalist after writing all of this "crap." Your blantant attacks on Shaylene and Jake for NO GOOD REASON is uncalled for and you should be ashamed of yourself. The SPECIAL COUNSEL that the County Attorney hired rendered NO WRONGDOING on behalf of the Prosecuting Attorney's Office, yet you still seem to launch attacks, discrediting the opinion of a highly regarded attorney, Gary Slovin, who may I remind you served as Executive Director for the Hawaii State Ethics Commission AND was County Attorney for the City and County of Honolulu. Seriously lady. Get a grip and write about something that matters instead of trying to slander people who have done NOTHING wrong.
ReplyDeleteHow many different agencies are investigating shaylene? 3? 4? 5? Does anyone know for sure?
ReplyDeleteWould like to know!
Msybe Chief Perry did not know Shaylene was drving the county car home. Maybe he assumed that white Nissan was her personal car. But still seems like he has to know about all her problems.
ReplyDeleteI'm confused. The report that clears Shay is right but the report that finds fault with the chief is wrong?
ReplyDeleteThey say that there's no SNAKES on Kauai but people should be warned that SNAKES are known to disguise themselves.
ReplyDeleteKauai has lots of SNAKES just drive by RICE street and Kuhio hwy, just be careful because the SERPENT is colorful.
Yeah, throw in a little racism. Pile on the hate.
ReplyDeleteMatthew 5:44
ReplyDelete"But I tell you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you."
SOLETTE PERRY is a well-respected outstanding person in our community and statewide. She is honest and has great integrity. And now she's under attack for speaking the Truth?!
ReplyDeleteYou Justin Kollar supporters, you need to accept the fact that SHAYLENE ISERI-CARVALHO cares for Kaua'i, the people, the 'aina, and is the right choice for Kaua'i's Prosecutor. I'm sure you haters don't like Shay because at one time or another, you worked for Shaylene and was most likely lazy and couldn't cut it. Well, get over it!
And now you all spreading hate for Shaylene.
I know Al Castillo told Justin to run for Prosecutor, because he is just too chicken to run against her, so he convinced his puppet Justin. Tracy Murakami is heading Justin's smear campaign by utilizing her cousin Joann Yukimura to head the witch- hunt of unfounded allegations to ask taxpayers to fund investigations to make Shaylene look bad when all Shay wants to do is help the community! Tracy also called Glenn Mickens to trash Shaylene's reputation, as well attorney June Ikemoto and the entire Kaua'i Bar Association! How desperate can you get?!
Yes, and now Kaua'i Eclectic is another venue to attack Shaylene...
Shaylene, be strong and know that there are Kaua'i people that knows the Truth and support you all the way!
VOTE FOR SHAYLENE ISERI-CARVALHO!
A HR director outstanding and well respected-you got to be effin kidding me, put your knee pads on before you get dirty down there. No PROMOTION or PAY RAISE for you! What are you do do ing?
DeleteTracy Murakami was a career prosecutor who worked just fine under previous prosecutors. Actually, her leaving OPA and decision to support Kollar was probably the biggest factor in my decision to vote KOLLAR.
ReplyDeleteThat is Chief Perry's wife. Reading this post, you insinuate that Chief Perry and his wife are not even on the same side. Why would you do that, except because you don't want the people of Kauai to believe that Chief Perry, our Chief Perry, supports Shay. You've been ignoring the evidence for months on end. He's at all her fundraisers, he's taken pictures with her, and now his wife is featured in a radio ad voicing her support for Shay.
ReplyDeleteIt sure would be convenient for you if Chief Perry and his wife were going through a divorce right now, but....they're not. What she said about Justin Koller was dead on. Koller sat there and backed Mark Begley while he refused to let the Chief, who had been reinstated by the Police Commission, into the building, and when Acting Chief Contrades ordered him to let the Chief in, Begley said "i take my orders from the county attorneys," and kept the door locked. Guess who he was talking about when he said "county attorneys: Justin Koller. And why was he ordering Begley to keep the Chief out? Oh yea, b/c he is the Mayor's bitch.
Which ones are the good cops and which ones are the bad cops? When the police commission had a divison against the commissioners in due part of who they wanted to run kpd, the book kpd blue identified who was the good commmissioners and who was the bad commissioners. We all know what person got the chiefs job but who is really the chief is the main question.
DeleteMakes you wonder how Moore got set up to get murdered in anahola and how that relates to Alves, was she set up for the murder of her neice so kpd could retaliate against her? That's what she's claiming (on andy parx news), who was on both cases and what were their roles and involvement in those incidents (look closely and you will find familiar names in both cases). Why was Carl Ritchie treated like a Gynecologist by the judicial system when he was a convicted pimp (debra morel is another female victim of Kauais corruption)? Some questions that needs answering.
SOLETTE who? Who T F care wat she tink?
ReplyDeleteSo Kollar was strong enough to even stand up to a police chief. I like that kind of independence.
ReplyDeletePoor chief, lost a couple days work with pay. Making mountains out of mole hills. The egos are dispicable!
Joan, why do you keep deleting comments from your blog? Shouldn't you be fair and objective? You are insane.
ReplyDeleteI keep deleting comments because Anonymouses are allowed only so many free cracks, and you just used your last one. Use your name, or stop making it personal.
ReplyDeleteYou make it personal all the time! You attack innocent people who care and work hard for the community of Kaua'i. If you can't get to Shaylene, you try to cause collateral damage and attack those around her, who did absolutely nothing to you. But you don't care, you only care about Shay's haters. You all are so OBSESSED with SHAY!!!
DeleteDon't worry about the Wilsons they got plenty of dough rae me.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who thinks Justin was giving anyone orders in that situation has a real exaggerated idea of how much power a deputy attorney has or what their job is.
ReplyDeleteIf Kollar was so strong in standing up to the Chief by locking him out of his office like a petulant child who didn't like playing by the rules - why does he have his tail tucked in his butt and is staying with the Chief and KPD? Why did he need to lie at the HGEA rally that he helped KPD? Why did he cry to KPD to let him stay there? Why is it that while he was "helping" KPD and advising KPD then the allegations against the Chief & AC's arise while Kollar's name is on every e-mail and document informing him (Kollar) of each step of the complaints? Ask him that at his fundraisers!
ReplyDeleteI am posting anonymously because I cant figure out how to use my name. I see that Justin Collar is running one of, if not the first, clean political campaign with integrity. I see this blog as putting the facts out there. The government and political system is unraveling before our eyes. We need money and ugliness out of our politics and government and a system that is aloha!
ReplyDeleteLori Wada, Shaylene's former First Deputy, gave Justin's campaign $200. Who would know better than Lori?
ReplyDeleteFormer prosecuting attorneys Ryan Jimenez Craig Decosta donated to Justin's campaign, too.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous at 5:46, what does the acronym "AC" stand for?
ReplyDeleteFormer Prosecutor Mike Soong went to Justin's fundraiser.
ReplyDeleteIf you were to poll the lawyers and judges on Kauai, Justin would win in a landslide.
ReplyDeleteIf you were to poll the court staff, Justin would win in a a landslide.
ReplyDeleteAC = assistant chief
ReplyDeleteIf the Perry household voted before the chief's beef with the mayor, Justin would have taken that household unanimously. Ask anyone who knows the chief what he used to say about Shaylene.
ReplyDeleteWasn't Slovin hired to REPRESENT Shay because she won't answer County Council questions about Pohaku without an attorney by her side? He wasn't hired to RENDER an opinion about Pohaku or investigate Pohaku. He was hired to simply represent Shay and give her legal advice about answering questions posed to her about Pohaku. I still don't understand why she won't answer the questions.
ReplyDeleteWhat does Solette Perry, personnel expert, think of all of the employee complaints that have been sustained against Shay?
ReplyDeleteWhat does Solette Perry, personnel expert, think of the 18 attorneys that have left the prosecutor's office since Shay's reign of error? Or Shay's decision to appoint the attorney with the least courtroom experience in her office to be the first deputy?
ReplyDeleteYou guys have over played the "Shay is pure evil" card. I think there was some damage when Joann and her lap dogs Al and Tim hinted darkly that there might be some irregularities in the setting up of the POHAKU program. But you couldn't control yourselves. You went overboard insisting that Jake was taking money under the table (because he is listed as the registered agent with the commerce dept? That theory is only going to hold water with idiots who don't know how to look up what a registered agent is); and that the FBI and AG are investigating? Please. You kooks are constantly calling out the FBI and AG to investigate whatever your dire issue of the day is. Don't you realize you've cried wolf about a thousand times too often already? We're onto you.
ReplyDeleteShay wanted the FBI and the AG to investigate Al. The special counsel said no one in the prosecutor's office should be the agent.
Delete"Wasn't Slovin hired to REPRESENT Shay because she won't answer County Council questions about Pohaku without an attorney by her side?"
ReplyDeleteAsk yourself this. If he was hired to represent Shay, then why isn't he representing her? Why did he write an opinion and call it a day? Why is he no longer on the case?
He did exactly what Al hired him to do EXCEPT Al did not expect in a million years that Shay was right and Al was wrong and Shay would be vindicated. Al's hand-picked attorney wrote a report that embarrassed Al.
How do you know he called it a day? How do you know he is no longer on the case? That report embarassed Shay. She doesn't have a written contract with Strategic Justice? What kind of lawyer would have a verbal agreement to run her program?
DeleteI just looked at Justin's campaign spending reports. Do you all know that Al Castillo already gave Justin $600 so far? Isn't that a conflict of interest? Just asking. It would seem to be a serious ethics violation. Hey, Tim and Joanne, will you be sending that to the ethics commission too?
ReplyDeleteShay doesn't even have a formal complaint filed against her.
ReplyDeleteAugust 8, 2012 6:43 PM
ReplyDeletesorry but Jake isn't the only one wearing a wire these days...citizens have learned they have to protect themselves - especially when they are told one thing and then something different the next (i.e planning department hooligans)
YOU SHUOLD GO BACK TO WHERE EVER U CAME FROM!!!! ALL OUR LIVES GROWING UP HERE ON OUR ISLAND WE WERE ALWAYS TOLD BY OUR ELDERS THAT IF U DIDN'T HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY ABOUT SOMEONE, KEEP UR MOUTH SHUT!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf you knew of a soccer coach molesting little boys on Kauai, would you keep your mouth shut?
DeleteIf you knew county workers, their friends, and their family was stealing gas would you keep your mouth shut?
If you knew there was a unusual number of people with cancer on the west side of Kauai would you keep your mouth shut?
If you were a friend, family, coworker, or just concerned of a murdered victim would you keep your mouth shut?
If you knew the Koloko Dam would have breached, would you have told the 7 people including a pregnant lady or would you have kept your mouth shut?
If you knew that people were committing crime and selling drugs would you keep your mouth shut?
I came from a place where people cared for one another, where you could leave your doors and windows opened 24/7, Where beaches, shores, valleys and secret places were free to explore, where sugar plantations used to be the number one industry, where families with connections got away with crimes/murders, where the drugs have ruin generations, where the people are fed up with the same families getting away with anything and everything they want, where the rice cake was so good at the lihue shell, where the koloa ice house was selling ice cream not Meth houses, where there used to be only one street light on the island, I came from this place.
Your Lips maybe Sealed and voice sworn for secrecy but I will continue the FIGHT against the Corruption on Kauai and remember when people had HEART.
Can she answer questions now?
ReplyDeleteDid Shay miss that lesson?
ReplyDeleteOh, by the way Ms. Perry......I voted for Justin as I didn't buy your crap about Shay and stopping corruption......are you kidding?
ReplyDeleteJoan, how much Jury trials have Justin won? ZERO. He had only 2. Didn't he lose a NEGLIGENT HOMICIDE case Against Al Castillo then right after that go work for the defense attorney, Al Castillo. Sounds like he threw that trial then got rewarded with a much higher pay than Shay was giving him.
ReplyDeleteThrough all the controversy and entertainment this blog has provided...Joan is still smoking' hot!
ReplyDeleteIf I was a defense attorney, I would love to have Justin as Prosecutor. Guarantee win. It's like having 2 defense attorneys in the courtroom. Victims forget about getting justice.
ReplyDeleteOh, poor thing, many many other people's parents taught them the same thing, you sound a little racist to believe you have to be raised her to believe in good manners.
ReplyDeleteWhatever.
Yah it makes perfect sense that Justin would throw his first jury trial under shay's supervision in hopes that a year later al would offer him a job at a pay cut. Perfect story, jake!
ReplyDeleteIf all of the voters on Kauai were friends with Sandusky and now know the truth about him, would the voters stand by Sandusky for all that he did?
ReplyDeleteIf all of the Voters were friends with Shay and now know the truth about her, would the Voters stand by Shay for all that she did?
The town hall meetings shows Kauai's poll results, Kauai knows the truth and it will be very interesting when the TERROR will END.
The crap printed here about Shay Isnt the truth.
ReplyDeleteLori Wada moved to Kauai from Oahu to be Shay's First Deputy. She was the third attorney to quit after working for Shay for less than one year and she gave money to Justin's campaign. Rosa Flores was a staunch supporter of Shay's until she worked for her. Rosa is now supporting Justin.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I've been living here too. I get in my car, drive to work, buy groceries, watch tv, kiss my wife...where is this TERROR! you are talking about? I mean, what the flying F*** are you talking about? Is your life so terrible, and you are blaming the prosecuting attorney's office for it? I mean, i guess...if you were a criminal...you'd think Shay had a REIGN OF TERROR. See how the all caps really doesn't make you sound all that...sane? But hey keep it up, you only hurt the side you support. It's like if the skinheads or KKK or Al Qaeda came out in support of Koller almost.
ReplyDeleteBeing born IGNORANT is NOT an EXCUSE.
DeleteKnowing the TRUTH is only HALF the BATTLE.
You are able to get in your car, go to work, buy groceries, watch tv, kiss your wife, because there are people who fight to protect us from terrorists. Men and Women from all over the world for generations have fought together to protect the US from really bad people.
DeleteGo to the beaches at night and you will see TERROR.
Go to the obituaries and you will see TERROR.
Go to people's houses that have been robbed and you will see TERROR.
Go to people families and friends of unsolved murdered victims and you will see TERROR.
Go to all the peole who suffer from cancer on the west side of Kauai and you will see TERROR.
Educate yourself my neighbor and enlighten your ignorance.
MY LIFE is GREAT- fighting against corruption on Kauai is a Blessing. I have found my calling in LIFE and it is to put and END to KAUAI'S HOME GROWN TERRORISTS.
The Olympics are On but Kauai's Political Games are the most important Drama that is being Played.
ReplyDeletePerry's video endorsement of Shay is an embarassment towards humanity, its like an OLD CIGARETTE COMMERCIAL. Now that the people have been exposed to the health risks and suffer from misinformation through these false advertisments as they are hypocritical of their own words- She will fight against Corruption- that's like Shit calling itself DoDo!
Wow......I thought Joan discovered a tumor growing, but instead it turned into a growing gushing pus filled abscess of hate against those of us sick of the corruption in our county government.
ReplyDelete"Go back where you came from...." is the answer to every thing.
Dr Shibai
No, no, no! No, please, Chief Perry, don't do this. Support your wife quietly, but let her go this one alone. This is just not right.
ReplyDeleteYou know Shay's shady dealings and how her misconduct has damgaed Kauai and KPD. Many, many, many innocent people and families have been hurt.
In Garden Island news interview in July 2011, written is your saying Justin Kollar has been a huge asset for KPD. His work described as a blessing. Justin Kollar is a very, very good prosecutor and his talents translate over to us (KPD).
This sound right.
Solette, how can you do this to the Kauai people? Some sorta reason that Justin Kollar failed your husband some how, so you turn to someone like Shaylene to get even.
Your personal vendetta is at our expense. At our island safety. Please stay out of politics with this type of power play.
How many more people will be damaged if Shay is re-elected?
You are aware of what most people with KPD and Kauai people think of Shay.
You know how dangerous Shay has been for Kauai. She is one of the MOST corrupt on Kauai.
Heart breaking...the days of KPD Blues has returned full force.
Solette's spun media announcement on belaf of Shay is loud with untruths, buzz words, and propaganda.
Many, many locals will drink the loyal-to-local Kool-Aid.
Like worm grunting, every deviant, criminal, corrupt, will start slithering out from under the rocks where they have been hiding with this media piece put together by Shay and Solette. They have been given the go ahead.
Please Chief Perry, set this right. You have the power to do so.
As someone just commented, Darryl Perry is campaigning for Justin too.
ReplyDeleteJustin Kollar has some decent endorsements from SOH Education Association, Craig DeCosta, Chief Darryl Perry, and Darla.
A Honolulu Detective visiting Kauai said he heard there was a "spat between Mayor Carvalho and Chief Perry". The way he carefully spoke we look a fool.
The Honolulu Detective said Chief Perry was..."ok." He had worked with him for years.
He chose his words carefully, but it looked like he was trying to be honest without being disrespectful.
The Detective said he had dealings with Solette Perry. She is a problem and known for this.
I was inclined to believe what the detective was saying. He didn't seem to have a hidden agenda and was cautious with his words.
No devious 98% Shay-style pie charts with this detective.
SHOPO has endorsed side-winder Shaylene Iseri-Carvalho. Wow. After all her crookedness. To serve and protect?
It's like sewage has backed-up and is spilling all over our streets of Kauai. We get to clean it up.
How desperate do you have to be to lie about Perry' endorsement? He has not endorsrsed Kollar. Nor has he campaigned for him.
ReplyDeleteDon't attack Solette for speaking the Truth! Solette stood by her Man and watched all that happened and the Chief of course told her everything that has happened to him. Chief Perry made a mistake and thought Justin was honest, but justin's true colors were revealed, and now no one at KPD trust Justin, maybe just darla, who's the worst cop and liar of all. How can Justin be a prosecutor when all of KPD can't stand him - KPD Administration & SHOPO who represents all sworn officers! Justin is just isolated at KPD in the Chief's office, but no one wants anything to do with him!
ReplyDeleteFor the third time i'll try to post why Tracy Murakami got fired: It was for being a leak of confidential information on active cases to Joan Conrow and her cousin, Joann Yukimura, to assist in Joan and Joann's attempts to discredit OPA.
ReplyDeleteGo ahead, delete it again. It doesn't change the truth. I bet you wonder who I am. How could I know that? The answer is, you told me.
Anonymous, I've repeatedly deleted that comment because it's not true. So to save me time, we'll leave it up there.
ReplyDeleteBecause given the number of visits you make to this blog -- yes, hundreds per day -- I know you've got a lot more time than I do.
I visit your site maybe three times a day on a good day, but since you are lying, you might as well keep it up
ReplyDelete"For the third time i'll try to post why Tracy Murakami got fired: It was for being a leak of confidential information on active cases to Joan Conrow and her cousin, Joann Yukimura, to assist in Joan and Joann's attempts to discredit OPA."
ReplyDeleteEither Shay or Jake or one of their gadoots told you this bullshit. Ask any of the attorneys in the prosecutor's office (besides Shay and her overqualified first deputy) about Tracy. Ask any of the 18 deputies that used to work for Shay about both Shay and Tracy. Ask Craig Decosta or Mike Soong about Shay and Tracy. If you were to poll the Kauai Bar Association as to who was the more ethical attorney, Tracy would win in a landslide.
Mark Zenger and Dan Hempey don't like each other (to put it mildly) but they both agree on one thing: Shay should not be the prosecutor.
Tracy wasn't fired. Neither were Justin, Rosa, Mauna Kea, Shauna, Lori, Shannon, etc etc etc. Nuff already with the lies.
ReplyDeleteFrom the Garden Island:
ReplyDeleteIn August of 2010, Deleplane started with OPA and had just passed the bar exam. He said he didn’t have supervisory powers over Burns at that time and was instead in charge of organizing zone violation cases.
One of the cases related to a compliance complaint that Bynum had converted his single-family home into a multi-family dwelling without proper permits. He said the OPA responds to requests from all county departments and acts to corroborate evidence presented to determine probable cause.
Hempey sought to determine whether Deleplane’s questioning of Burns was an assertive effort to confirm probable cause for zoning violations. Hempy also asked about the appropriateness of using victim-witness testimony in an unrelated assault at the property to learn the layout of the room and the items inside.
Burns testified that he was uncomfortable with the idea and didn’t agree do question Yokotake.
Based on Burns testimony, Deleplane asked to continue the hearing until he could bring in another prosecutor from his office for the recusal motion because he may become a potential witness himself and feared impeaching testimony. He said that he would stay on as lead prosecutor in the case.
Watanabe denied the request and said the prosecution was compartmentalizing its arguments for its convenience and agreed with Hempey. The judge expressed serious concerns with the prosecutor’s office and ruled the Bynum case be handed over to the State Attorney General.

Ask Bynum or Hempey if there wasn't also a refrigerator and a sink and a deadbolt lockout with no doorknob in that illegal apartment he rented to tenants.
ReplyDeleteOh my god... No... Not... A refrigerator!!!!!
ReplyDeleteFrom Kauai Eclectic March 2, 2012:
ReplyDeleteHumane Society Wants Iseri-Carvalho Recused From Horse Abuse Case
The Kauai Humane Society is asking the court to recuse Prosecuting Attorney Shaylene Carvalho-Iseri from the animal cruelty case against Lara Butler-Brady because she has become personally involved.
The motion filed in Circuit Court yesterday claims that Iseri-Carvalho intends to dismiss the case, which is set for trial March 11, because the agency will not fire Jessica Venneman, who investigated the alleged abuse and neglect of Brady-Butler's horses.
In a declaration, KHS Executive Director Shannon Blizzard detailed attempts by Iseri-Carvalho to have Venneman disciplined or terminated following a personal run-in between the two women this past January.
It all started when Venneman checked out a barking dog complaint involving a man who reportedly is Iseri-Carvalho's cousin and married to a woman who works in the prosecutor's office. When Venneman tried to get the man to license his dogs, tensions escalated. He reportedly called Iseri-Carvalho, who in turn called Venneman, resulting in a heated conversation between the two women.
Iseri-Carvalho later complained to Blizzard about Venneman, saying she had lied and also had insulted her by implying she was seeking preferential treatment for the man. In further discussions, KHS staff said they felt Iseri-Carvalho was making it clear that her decision about whether to proceed with the horse abuse case hinged on Venneman's termination.
Prior to the run-in, the prosecutor's office had assured KHS the case was good and winnable, and no mention had been made of dropping it, the motion states.

How many trials has Delaplane done?
ReplyDeleteLess than any other attorney in the prosecutor's office. Wise choice. Makes me feel safe knowing he's prosecuting Hilario.

ReplyDeleteShe probably deleted it because it isn't true.
Why is Shay being investigated for campaign finance irregularities?
Why is the deputy OPA recording people without their knowledge?
Why would she not answer questions posed by council if everything was 100% legitimate.
too many questions without any answers
A desparate smear campaign by Shay, with Solette helping, putting to exploitive use her husband's postition as the island chief of police.
ReplyDeletePeople will stand up, take note. Shay "ethical, pono, and fighting passionately for the rights of victims and against the corrupt" as Solette announces?
Pono?
Shaylene Iseri-Carvalho has victimized more innocent people, and cost tax payers more money, than most public servants have, hands down.
Wonder what KPD cops think of this one, their chief's wife involvement as a key endorser for Shay?
What can we expect from KPD administration to this issue? My bet is silence.
If Shay has done so many worthwhile things for the community, why didn't Shay and Solette zero in on Shay's works that have such worthy merit as Solette Perry says, rather than go after another candidate?
This is all that would have to be done. Make one bullet point at a time, humbly and to the facts. It is simple and "speaks true volume" to the actual.
Shay's accomplishments, over the last few years as District Attorney, would have spoken loudly enough.
No, nothing but blind-siding an innocent opponent. Then, the police chief's wife is the key catalyst. Does not present well.
Cunning, unethical, and immoral.
Can you secretly tape a witness to get information on some poor guy that you happen to dislike so you can convict him of having a tenant with a rice cooker? Isn't there some ethical code that frowns on that kind of behavior? There should be.
ReplyDeleterice cooker story is a lie. Ask Tim if he didn't have a full size refrigerator and a kitchen counter and sink in there , and a lock out. Ask him. If he's honest he'll own up. Of course he's not because he let his lawyer Daniel G. Hempey sell the rice cooker lie.
ReplyDeleteBut even if your kitchen facts are true, was it apparent to the prosecution that the evidence gathered was based on an illegal search- such that the prosecution should not have filed charges?
ReplyDeleteWhy is the police chief's wife an expert in HR supporting a women who has had, what, 3 EEOC Settlements come out of her office...that just doesn't sound appropriate.
ReplyDeleteJoan,
ReplyDeleteShaylene or one of her beloved loyalists called you a "bully".
