Because Joan is all about the love.
There is more than one sign up there vandalized in that fashion by immature idiots and it is sad and frankly should not given voice.
graffiti is a way of expressing oeself. Misplaced, yeah, but we could have walls that are for that express purpose too, and it's obvious there's a need for these kids to express themselves.
Love is the ultimate subversive action.
So says the "back door man" sneaking away after hearing the husband come home early...
Cute when da haole kids do it, huh?
Even an expression of love stirs up the haters.
An expression of love as in vandalizing a city sign that will probably cost a lot more than it is worth (by your taxes) is not conducive with "an expression of love". Doesnʻt matter what it said, itʻs not cute and I saw the haoles.ʻHateʻto think how your luvvy duvvy attitude would change if you found out it was local kids.
What difference does it make if its haoles or locals?! Its no big deal just words on a sign! Some people get so worked up over NOTHING!!!
2:23am. You mean like you got worked up.Clearly some who comment are embolden by the fact that they are anonymous and are racial instigators. They write these things to get a response but if you were face to face with them, they are nothing but winey little wimps writing from the homes they still share with their mommas. Lets just egnore them and their comments and they will get bored. The real issue is that the writing on these signs are more than just a simple expression, they will sadly cost alot of money to fix.And yes, it is all cute like puppies unless you are the one with the damaged property or having to open up your wallet. Reality is someone will have to take these signs down now and clean it, replaced it, or fix it.Still think it is cute?
why not just leave the message ; why take down the sign to clean? The stop sign is very functional and the message is of love. Some of us like to read "never stop love" and would encourage the signs to continue to wave that love message.
7:24. I agree 100%
That sign has been like that for some time do lets all quit whining and worrying about how much it will cost to fix it!! I'm so tired of everything being about money money money....get the message people! It's about love!
"Graffiti man's got something to say...."http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKwM328bR4E
That was not the only stop sign vandalized up here in that fashion. It's graffitti. Please tell us your address so we can write "LOVE" on your home or vehicle. Then let's see how you feel the love! *LOL*
Stop! In the name of love.
Alright this topic has officially run its course. Next?
To:"Please tell us your address so we can write "LOVE" on your home or vehicle. Then let's see how you feel the love! *LOL*"Stop signs are neither your home or your vehicle. So don't stretch on the analogies, please.
Defacing public property, as well as private property, is a crime regardless of the "message".Idiots!
"Defacing" oooh oooh! the drama of the 'defacing' of a perfectly readable stop sign. Where do you think you are, England in the 18th century? You are defacing yourself with your comments about graffiti and defacements.
I'm in Hawaii in the 21st century.Read the state laws regarding "defacing public property" and see for yourself that it is an illegal act.Asswipe.
Hawaii has new graffiti penalty for taggers (appended to previously existing graffiti laws)Gov. Linda Lingle today (5/12/10) signed into law a bill that requires a person to remove graffiti from damaged property within 30 days of being sentenced for the crime. The new law also requires the person perform community service to help remove other graffiti within 100 yards of the site of the offense, even if the property was damaged by another person.
I consider it the law inside our hearts... but that's an unacceptable thing to do, it's vandalizing government property.
