Musings: Deep Cleaning

Deputies and staff with the Kauai Office of Prosecuting Attorney were barred from coming into work this weekend and next because the office would be “closed for cleaning.”

And to ensure that no one could come in, all staff members were directed to turn over their key cards before leaving work on Friday.

However, upon checking with county spokeswoman Beth Tokioka, I learned that no county janitorial staff was scheduled to work this weekend at any of our facilities.”

The directive to turn over key cards and stay out of the office is reportedly unprecedented at the OPA. County janitorial staff works only Monday through Friday, according to Beth.

An email with the subject heading “OPA Offices Closed for Weekend Access/Cleaning” was sent to all OPA staff yesterday by Administrative Officer Art Williams, who reportedly was acting at the direction of Prosecutor Shaylene Iseri-Carvalho.

Shaylene reportedly has not been into the office since she was defeated in the Nov. 6 election, although she has communicated with some staff via email. Justin Kollar officially takes over as county Prosecutor on Dec. 3.

Deputies who have trials and court cases on Monday morning were reportedly told to make copies of often voluminous case files on Friday so they wouldn't have to come into the office this weekend.

Two questions immediately arise.

First, the charitable one: Wow, is Shay paying for a cleaning crew out of her own pocket so she can make sure the office is all spiffy for Justin? Nah...

Which leads to the second question: WTF?

  1. 10 REAL REASONS Shaylene Iseri-Carvalho and Jake Delaplane want to keep everyone out of the office this weekend:

    1. Planning a new secret attack against her enemies. Who? F* Everyone!
    2. Taking bugs out of offices
    3. Placing bugs into offices.
    4. Cleaning but doesnot want people to see her drunk off her arsh and crying.
    5. "Interviewing" for a job with Mel
    6. Xeroxing all files so she can keep an eye on that upstart
    7. Clearing out all the Pohaku paraphernalia.
8.Deleting files that might be embarassing. Shred, shred, shred
    9. Leaving little surprises for Justin.
    5. F*ing with her staff because that is all the power she and Jake have left for two more weeks.

  3. I would like to commend the person(s) who came forward and posted the illegal acts of a tyrant former Shayme PA and her partner in crime Jake the Snake of the county of Kauai.

  4. Shaylene hasn't been in since the election? That, my award winning journalist friend, is a lie.

  5. So she is going to go in and purge incriminating files, i.e. clean the office?
Or, she is going in to get all the work done to incriminate the mayor et al.
In either case I don't think it was legal to demand staff keys and lock them out. The County Attorney should nail her.

  6. 8:47pm You are correct. How many days did she go in? 1 or was that 2?

  7. First time reading your blog. Shocked by what I'm reading here - is Shaylene's activity this weekend legal? Who's minding the store?

  8. My word. How lame can a lame duck get? It's a good month to be a criminal as the wheels of justice grind slower and slower.

And to think the worker bees have to turn in their keys so they don't get a sudden attack of conscience and decide to go do some off hours work. What, is there an attorney's union that outlaws overtime without pay?

  9. Reminds me of the EPA when Bush was elected. Computer files were erased, telephone logs destroyed. All against a court order. Something similar here?

  10. Ah, to be a fly on the wall in Shay's office this weekend!

  12. Can the court do something about this or is she free to do as she pleases?

  13. Maybe you collect the "key cards" so no one can come in and interrupt those who are cleaning. Maybe it's for safety reasons as they/re using harsh chemicals to clean...

Maybe, just maybe, the shredder is working over time destroying incriminating evidence...

  14. The County has in house janitor services in the Building Division. Special cleaning is arranged through them. Nothing was scheduled by them for this weekend or next. Suspicions are all justified. Somebody should do something.

  15. I called kitv news and other news agencies to investigate what Shaylene and Jake are secretly doing. Kauai's version on Bonnie and Clyde have been up to some crazy stuff these past few years of tyranny. What makes them believe that they are untouchables?

  16. 4:48 PM has it right - it is all of those 10 reasons, plus even more f**ked up ones we can't even imagine. Hopefully she will never serve in public office again.

  17. This only proves that Shayme is apart of a powerful group of people called the GOBAG that has syndicate cops and is a criminal organization. What she is doing only proves that the pohaku program her and jake were involved in was to protect the criminals that she is related to and friends with on Kauai.

  18. Shay, Jake, Charley......if your out there.....what are you doing?
    Any parting remarks?

  19. She's probably "cleaning" out the closet full of $10,000 worth of pohaku tote bags, pens, and t-shirts she has in there.
